Some projects that have been implemented by the Viet Nam Women Entrepreneurs Council (VWEC):
The Viet Nam Women Entrepreneurs Council (VWEC) has been cooperating with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) to deploy programs, projects aiming to enhance the capacity of women-owned businesses: The project on “Enhancing Women’s Economic Empowerment in Asia – WeEmpowerAsia” from 2019-2022; The program on “Creating equal market opportunities for women by advancing Supplier Diversity through Gender-Responsive Procurement” (WE RISE Together) from 2023-2025; The “Supporting women-owned enterprises, associations, clubs of women entrepreneurs to safely use and extracting information and data on cyberspace” (Cyber Security) program from 2022-2023; The project on “Supporting businesses to improve competitiveness and enhance economic capacity for women toward sustainable development” in 2024-2025.
Cooperated with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) to launch the “EmPower: Promotes women’s economic empowerment through Green Transformation” project in 2024-2025, which aims to broaden knowledge and leadership skills for women, female entrepreneurs in economic activities and business development, especially in the context of building a green and sustainable economy.
In collaboration with The Asia Foundation: (1) Develop & complete the mentoring toolset in 2021; (2) Implement the project “Support the development of women-owned businesses in Viet Nam” (2024-2027) to enhance their capacity in digital skills, cyber security, and increase their expertise in the digital economy; connecting and sharing business management and operation experiences…
With the support of Imex Pan Pacific Group (IPPG), in 2022, VWEC implemented the Mentoring program for women entrepreneurs using the Mentoring toolset advanced by The Asia Foundation in 2021.
From 2009-2022, cooperated with the Dutch Employers Cooperation Programme (DECP), implemented activities to improve skills in negotiation, policy advocacy, and leadership for associations, clubs of local women entrepreneurs; enterprises, especially women-owned /led enterprises, companies using a high number of female employees.
In collaboration with Meta (Facebook), VWEC implemented the #SheMeansBusiness (#Phunuladoanhnhan) program in Viet Nam from 2017 – 2023. This program aimed to provide information, knowledge, and enhance the capacity of small and medium enterprises, micro-enterprises owned by women, and women entrepreneurs on digital skills and financial literacy through training courses, workshops, conferences, and networking conferences nationwide.
The Council has coordinated with multilateral business cooperation mechanism such as the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN BAC) and the APEC Business Advisory Council (APEC BAC) to nominate/introduce/inform Vietnamese women-owned businesses to participate in events, conferences, workshops, and forums related to promoting the role of women entrepreneurs in international economic integration, inclusive development.
In collaboration with other partners (Google, Coca-Cola Viet Nam, The World Bank in Viet Nam, Embassy of Canada, Embassy of Australia, The Cherie Blair Foundation, ADB bank, State Bank of Viet Nam, commercial banks such as BIDV, SeABank, VP Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, etc…), implemented supporting activities for women entrepreneurs, including conferences, workshops, training courses, and networking programs,….
